Fleur collection by S-kin Studio jewelry

Hello my darlings, how are you doing today? As you can tell from the title we’ll be talking about jewelry and more specifically the Fleur collection by S-ki Studio jewelry. S-kin Studio jewelry is a fine jewellery Australian brand with sustainable and ethically made pieces. The Fleur collection is a limited edition collaboration of S-kin Studio with Hegia De Boer. The collection is inspired by flowers, spring and vintage pearls. Before I start with the review though let me tell you first a little bit of the background story.

We have a fairly new tradition in our family for the parents to give a gift to their children when they get their first pension payment. My grandfather started it when he gave my mum a beautiful set of jewelry many years ago. Luckily was one of the very few things that wasn’t stolen when somebody broke into our house many years ago. So now that my dad got his pension instead of giving us a present he gave us money to buy what we like. His only request was the item we get to be timeless so we can keep it if not forever, at least for a long time. My brother went for a watch but I already have so many and I wanted something more special.

I was on a hunt to find the perfect gift for at least 9 months. I’ve searched everywhere that I could think of but I couldn’t find what I truly wanted, or if I did, it was WAY over my budget! Until I saw these two necklaces from S-kin Studio that stole my heart! It wasn’t an impulsive purchase though. I wanted to be sure that the item I get was something timeless, good quality. Also minimal, beautiful and eye catching but not in bad way and of course in my budget. And this duo ticked all the boxes!

I can imagine myself wearing these pieces when I grow old but at the same time I think that they will never go out of style and even my grand-kids will enjoy them. I know I see way ahead but that’s what timeless means to me and I wanted to be sure that I won’t regret it. In the end you can never go wrong with pearls, right? So from now on, everytime I wear these I will have my parents with me! I know I’m cheesy, no need to point it out, haha!

Now that you know the more personal story let’s dive in to the necklaces! As I mentioned earlier the fleur collection is a S-kin Studio limited edition collection co-designed with Hegia de Boer. According to the brand’s website and I quote “is inspired by spring blooming florals and feeling confident in your own skin. Channel your inner femininity with romantic freshwater pearls and dainty gold-filled floral designs to dress up your look.” Unfortunately once sold out the collection will not be restocked. So let me introduce you the first necklace

Sophie necklace

It’s a delicate, timeless and feminine necklace that can compliment every single outfit. This necklace is meant to sit right in front of our heart, which undoubtedly is the most important part of us! I’m not gonna say a lot about this one as it is unfortunately sold out for good. If you want to know more though about the inspiration behind it head over to Hegia’s Instagram account and you will find a highlight dedicated to this collection. And now let’s move on to the other necklace which is still in stock, yay!

Tifa necklace

Another timeless piece which gives me mermaid vibes but in a classic way. You know how much I love the little mermaid Disney movie and this necklace makes me feel like a princess! Truth is you can never go wrong with pearls, am I right? The Tifa necklace is a choker made by freshwater pearls, filled with 9K gold. It’s tarnish resistant, hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.  It costs 120 euro which is a great price for a fine jewellery and as I’m writing this post, it’s still in stock.

Both of them look absolutely stunning and you can feel that they are good quality pieces. You can wear them together or separately and they are a great addition to your look without being too much. In the beginning I was looking to get a designer piece but in my price range there weren’t that many beautiful and classic pieces. So I’m very happy that I got these instead of getting something only for the sake of the brand’s name. It’s a proof that small businesses have some hidden treasures, you just need to search better and find them!

After a 10% promo I payed for both of them around 170 to 180 euro. I was then eligible for free normal shipping but due to coronavirus it took more than a month to reach me. Then I payed also around 56 or 57 euro in import taxes. I was expecting it though to pay import taxes as they came from Australia! Still believe that they were totally worth it and I can’t stop wear them!

What is the item that reminds you of your family?
