Tell me one reason why on earth it took me that long to invest in a good pair of espadrilles! These shoes are so perfect for summer and are super comfortable! I was eyeing the Castaner Carina espadrilles for a year now but every time I was about to get them something stopped me. Until a few weeks ago that I finally took the plunge and bought them. I got them from Zalando and they were on sale.
MAterial and Price
Originally they cost 95 euro and I got them for 76 euro. It’s probably the first time that I saw the ivory colour on sale, or even if it was on sale in the past my size was never available! About the material now. The outer material is textile and it’s quite soft. On the inside is a combination of textile and leather. The heel is canvas and the sole is plastic. The laces are also made from textile and what I love the most about the is that they are not slippery. If you tie them the right way they stay in place until you untie them.
comfort and right size
I was torn between sizes 35 and 36 so I got them both to see which one fits the best. I’m 35,5 (wide fit) or 36 most of the times. I rarely wear 35 anymore but I heard that the Castaner Carina espadrilles have a wider fit. In the end I kept the 36 and I placed half a sole on the inside.I wore them a few times and I’m impressed by how comfortable they are. Off course it needs a couple more times to “break” as they give me a few blisters on the toes. But I think that this is normal and in general is very rare to find new shoes that doesn’t give you blisters.
Heel height and colour
The heel is wedge style and as I mentioned above is canvas. I went for the 6 cm heel height on the ivory colour. It’s not very yellowish which I adore as most of my clothes aren’t in warm tones shades. I wore them already with jeans, dresses and shorts and they look cute with everything! I was between the 6 cm heel height and the 8 but I chose the 6 because it will be more comfortable to walk in with. And I’m very happy with my choice. I don’t own a bike here, I know it’s shocking!, so I run all errands by feet. I walk a lot and I want my shoes to be very comfortable and thankfully these are a lot!
