Do you ever want to wear skirts in winter but you are afraid you are gonna get cold? If the answer is yes I totally feel you! Thanks to Tik Tok though we have the answer to all of our winter problems: fleece tights! I have to admit winter is not my favourite season as I hate the cold, but can be charming sometimes. I like winter outfits though because I love wearing faux furs and being cozy! When I was living in Greece I used to wear skirts all year long. Winters in the cities I lived weren’t that harsh so I got away with 20 den tights
Winters in the Netherlands on the other hand are a very different story. Although it’s not colder temperature wise, it’s definitely more windy and humid so you feel the cold in a deeper level! The first year I was constantly cold and sick because I wasn’t dressed properly for the weather. The years passed by and I finally learned how to get dressed the way I love without compromising being warm!
My secret? I started wearing thermals underneath! It worked so well when I was wearing pants but with skirts it didn’t work at all. I don’t like wearing very opaque black tights or leggings. I like the black sheer look and also the tights with patterns. But with the black thermal leggings it was impossible to achieve that look. This is the reason why I was so happy when I saw the nude fleece tights on Tik Tok and I knew immediately that I need to try them!
After an extended research I ordered the fleece tights from Shein as the reviews on these were impeccable. I placed the order on the 31st of January and I received the parcel on the 7th of February. They cost 7.75 euro and are one size. I had my doubts about the one size fits all situation but they are super elastic so indeed they can fit different sizes and body types. The only thing that you might find annoying ( personally I don’t mind) is that they go high up the waist on short people like me ( 1.53cm/ 5 feet).
The fleece tights are very soft inside and out and their colour is very close to my skin colour. They are quite thick which is the whole purpose but keep it in mind if you don’t like having extra thickness in your thigh area. I was also very surprised that they stayed in place the whole time. From my experience when something is one size most of the times slips when I move around and I need to adjust it every few minutes or so. I walked around the city with these for the 2 photoshoots and I had no problem at all.
Warmth wise the fleece tights feel like pants. If you are as easily cold as I am you might need to also add socks. The fleece starts from the belly (loved it because it keeps your body warm) and ends on the ankle. There is no fleece on the feet part, it’s just a thick opaque normal tight. I also got a pair of fleece nude leggings. I wanted to test the difference but unfortunately the leggings have something that looks like a ink stamp on them so I need to figure out how to remove it. Anyway, they are similar but the fleece tights are a bit thicker in my opinion. The fleece leggings have an extra piece of fabric to cover your heel.
In these photos I’ve decided to wear an extra pair of light coloured tights on top of the fleece tights. The white polka dot tights (got them from Shein) on the first outfit have a bit of a yellowish undertone. I think you can tell that I’m wearing something underneath. On the second outfit I’m wearing a pair of nude with black polka dot tights from the brand Wolford. Honestly, I don’t think that is visible I’m wearing fleece tights underneath. The Wolford tights have a darker nude shade and they are a much better quality than the Shein ones so I believe this is what made a difference. I didn’t check them yet with sheer black tights but I expect them to not be visible underneath.
